This version of a classic margarita packs a spicy surprise with a tipple of Candied Jalapeño Cocktail Mix. Made by Georgia-based business owner Clark Stallings of Gesus Palomino, the Candied Jalapeño Cocktail Mix is a liquified version of the candied jalapeños Stallings used to preserve with his mother every year.
The sweet heat from the peppers complements the fiery tequila in the margarita recipe. But don't limit it to just drinks: The cocktail mix can also double as a marinade for meats or as a flavoring in salad dressings.
In a cocktail tin, add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and Candied Jalapeño Mix. Top with ice and shake vigorously until a frost forms around outside of tin. Pour into a rocks glass rimmed with salt and garnish with a lime wedge.
