The Local Palate Marketplace is excited to bring Caroline Hudson on board as our Marketplace Operations and Sales Associate! Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she was drawn to the South after completing her degree at Clemson University. Something about Southern hospitality and a slower, deeper appreciation for the little things held her attention, and she decided to move to Charleston to begin working at The Local Palate Marketplace. “In the south, there’s a greater interest in a slower paced-life, and I know that can translate into a deeper appreciation for Southern-made goods and a grassroots way of sourcing. I’m so excited to be able to use The Local Palate’s platform to help promote these businesses and the incredible things they’re doing,” says Hudson.
Caroline is excited to be rooting down in Charleston, and feels like her place at The Local Palate Marketplace will help her acclimate quickly. “I’m already feeling at home with the staff here. Everyone is passionate, collaborative, and wholeheartedly rooting for one another. It seems like a place where ideas are accepted and everyone has a place,” notes Hudson.
As the Marketplace Operations and Sales Associate, Caroline will be heavily involved in vendor outreach, onboarding, and overall management. She brings a wealth of passion for small business and is eager to meet everyone. “Small business has always been a big part of my family. Both my grandfather and grandmother started small businesses in Maryland, and my grandmother’s business was host to three generations of Hudsons working in one place–myself included,” says Hudson.
“Vendors that immediately caught my attention when looking into the Marketplace were Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. for their crisp and clean branding, Ella’s Popcorn which seemed so whimsical and fun, and it was so fun to see Hubs Peanuts as a vendor–I’ve been receiving those from my great uncle every year for Christmas for a long time,” explains Hudson.
We’re thrilled to have Caroline as part of the team, and know she will bring so much to The Local Palate Marketplace!
