Quintin Middleton with a knife he crafted

Middleton-Made Knives, based out of the quaint town of Saint Stephen, South Carolina, is a black-owned and operated, bespoke culinary knife company led by local bladesmith, Quintin Middleton. Quintin is a remarkable craftsman whose expertise and dedication has become a beacon of quality and authenticity in the knife industry. Middleton-Made Knives has successfully carved its niche fulfilling anything from small custom orders or collaborating with world-renowned chefs and collectors.

Middleton-Made Knives range in price from $130-285, and offer pieces like classic 4’’ and 8’’ Echo Chef knives, which have gained a reputation as the most versatile kitchen knives in a collection. These knives are most commonly used for cutting meat, dicing vegetables, slicing herbs, and chopping nuts. Quintin’s assortment of knives also includes 4’’ Echo Paring knives, the smaller version of chef knives, offering greater versatility and precision, often used for peeling apples and potatoes, mincing garlic and onions, or coring tomatoes. A third type of kitchen knife are the 8’’ Echo Nakiri knives which have a large, deep and ultra-sharp blade and are ideal for chopping herbs, vegetables, or boneless meats. The fourth and final knife is the Oyster Brew Shucker, the use of which is evident in the name. These knives make oyster shucking safe and easy and can also be used to open bottles

Quintin’s artistry and skill has gained acclaim from outlets such as CBS Sunday Morning, the New York Times, Forbes, Men's Journal, and more. These not only celebrate his incredible craftsmanship but also his ability to turn his passion into a thriving business.

Quintin Middleton’s success, however, is measured not only in sales or by the quality of his knives, but by the impact his dedication has had on the community. Apart from bringing pride to his family and small Southern Community, Quintin is a constant source of inspiration for aspiring artisans and African-American entrepreneurs in the South.
