Columbia Aponte Honey Coffee
Produced by the Inga indigenous community in the town of Aponte, Colombia, this coffee is distinctively sweet. In the late 14th century, this community belonged to the northernmost part of the Inca empire before ecological shifting caused damage to many of the homes. Specialty coffee production in the area offers some relief by providing a higher and more consistent income for residents. Grown between 1900-2200 meters, this honey-process coffee is dried on patios and solar-dried machines. It has notes of cherry, watermelon, strawberry, and candied orange, with a honey sweetness.
