Maple End Grain Cutting Board | The Boardsmith
For the last decade, the Boardsmith has been one of the most admired makers of butcher blocks in the world. Their reputation has been hard-built, beginning with an uncompromising approach to craftsmanship.
Known for its lasting strength and durability, maple has long been the traditional wood used for cutting boards and butcher's blocks. The Boardsmith uses sustainably harvested (certified FSC) premium-grade maple for these beautiful, blonde-colored boards.
Prior to shipping, each butcher block is sanded smooth, given a soak in the Boardsmith’s pharmacy-grade mineral oil tank for 30-plus minutes, allowed to dry overnight, and then buffed with Boardsmith Board Butter.
From start to finish, the Boardsmith cutting boards are designed and made in the United States. They make for an eye-catching and thoughtful gift for yourself or others. They’re made with top quality hardwoods and Titebond III glue, which is EPA approved, food safe, and waterproof. Their design makes them an aesthetic platter for a celebratory cheese board, but they have the functionality to stand up to chopping veggies or serving over foods. Mix and match the Boardsmith’s ‘side-kick’ boards, too, for additional prep or serving space.
About the Boardsmith
David Smith founded the Boardsmith in High Point, North Carolina—the furniture capital of America—in 2005. He steadily built a reputation for crafting some of the finest butcher blocks in the world. John Loftis took over the Boardsmith upon David’s retirement in 2015. Having crafted thousands of cutting boards prior to assuming the mantle of the Boardsmith, Loftis was a great fit to carry on the tradition of excellence of the brand.
Each board is made by hand and crafted with care; please allow two to three weeks delivery time so we can provide you with the highest quality handmade cutting board to use for many years.
